>>5863056Right as you’re about to leave, you hear a sound from behind you. Your friend immediately turns to bolt, but you send heavy waves of reassurance to them. They still seem highly spooked, but are curious enough to watch as your mother’s gigantic head emerges from the undergrowth yet again. She beholds the both of you, and you sense a growing tension in the air. She’s caught you out past curfew again, playing with another dragon. Hopefully she’s not annoyed. You walk towards her, ready to be picked up and brought home.
Only to have a colossal vine swing past and smash your friend into the dirt, crushing every bone in their spine and flattening them into a red-and-teal smear. You screech in alarm, as she seizes you and drags you away, leaving the buzzing flies to descend on the body. Other vermin will strip it clean before the sun sets.
>Rage. That was your friend, who was just smashed into dirt like a bug. You don’t care what this is about, bare your teeth, bear this grudge, and lash out, heedless to her reaction. >Cry. There’s no siblings to expose your weakness to here. You couldn’t reveal your sorrow at losing your sibling, for it would have emboldened the villain in your home, but it’s just happened again. Bemoan the loss and let your emotions ring out. >Wait. Then ask. There has to be a reason for this. Your emotions are rolling around within you, but you have to learn more before you let them burst free. Calmly work your way through this and try to figure out mother’s intentions. >Nothing. You… Don’t feel anything. They were simply a playmate, and a rather poor one at that. You completely sever yourself from the situation and let it wash over you like murky water. That is how you will deal with events such as this: by hardening your heart. ((>>Nurturing: CHOICE UNAVAILABLE))This will be the last of the milestone choices that finishes cementing our dragon protagonist's overall personality. As you can see, that Nurturing choice back then was an extremely major one. Their hatchling stage will pass soon, so this vote will affect how they grow up, in combination with choices and priorities that have already been made. I'd advise voting on a basis of establishing a character, rather than any sort of optimal pick/
