We start... right now!

You maintain him there, at arm’s reach. A hair breath away, close enough that if it decides to attack, it’d kill you without you even realizing.
But you need to keep it there for a bit longer, for your Aura to regenerate just enough to charge Promised Return, impale the Komodo through the eye and explode its brains from the inside. Or what Grimm have in the head that’s close enough to a brain.
The longest seconds in the history of Remnant tick away, and a standoff most unusual continues on. The purple eyes of a 17 year old aspiring huntsman, meet their match with the red eyes of the Komodo.
You can faintly see through the corner of your eye Coco and Isaac on the ground. She has her machine gun aimed at the beast with shaky hands. You can’t quite make her expression, but you can take a guess.
You chuckle. The last time you both saw a Grimm together was on that fateful day of your meeting. The little brunette girl had soiled herself at the sight of the monster. You wonder if she still does so.
You shake your mind of distractions and focus on regenerating your Aura, while giving your full attention to the Komodo.
Giving it your all to two things proves challenging, but slowly and surely you get enough.
You grip Promised Return on your other hand - you can’t even remember calling it, but that doesn’t matter right now - and subtly charge it.
Your plan is to very slowly charge it around halfway to avoid having the Komodo notice the shift in color, before swiftly impaling it and charging it all the way inside its head.
A solid plan, were it not for the Komodo instantly noticing you pumping Aura to the dangerous looking stick.
It hisses at you, turns around, almost hits you with its tail and escapes. Unlike the proud and dangerous looking sprint it did before, it scurries away like a - well - a scared lizard. In a blink, it moves a hundred meters away before burrowing.
“…”
“…”
“…” At some point Isaac woke up. He fainted again.
“What the-”
No one will ever believe you.
