This is where the Federation holds the absolute advantage, at least within Sol. The Garmillans use 2 systems: A Hyperwave transceiver and more conventional methods that can be modified relatively freely, as our current batch managed to modulate their transmitters into transmitting tachyons(1) in a short notice. The Sol Hyperdiction Field enacted to prevent the Ethereals from returning here, has all but disabled or severely hampered any hyperspace utilizing technology, including hyperwave.
1) In this case, the tachyons do not refer to the actual exotic particle, but a phenomenon called a "tachyonic phase state" in which any affected matter MUST travel faster than light in realspace. Using this phenomenon, the information is sent into the past, but the transmitter must first endure the elapsed time that it takes for the data to travel at lightspeed before the temporal mechanics come into play. So accounting for C-factor, it would appear that the data travels normally at FTL speeds. In this way cosmic censorship can be usually bypassed. Quoting a famous professor: "...When a portion of the electrical energy contained internally in an electron is evacuated by this magnetic interaction, a partial vacuum is generated, the type of particle being evacuated being the neutrino. An electron with full charge contains ~1,500,000 neutrinos. When these collisions are generated, being that neutrinos are quite ubiquitous, they rapidly fill any void created; a large part of the reason why no one else has discovered this. When light is present in the ambient environment and it comes from a single particular direction, the electrons in the air, I predict, have a tendency to spin in a direction that orients their own emitted magnetism in a direction perpendicular to the source of the light. The light, having a full electrical charge, becomes the charge source for the air's electrons, while the electrons in the air are losing some of their energy to the electrons being, perhaps intentionally, drained by a magneton source such as a calibrated skyrmion lattice. The dynamic is complex, but is essentially that of pockets of air with greater density rushing in to fill a vacuum. The difference here is, the vacuum is generated by sending energy into the past, and it is nullified by the import of energy from surrounding space. Included under the auspices of space, I believe, is the concept of time. The only way neutrinos can come "out of nowhere" to form the basis of gravity is by coming from what we would call the future. In reality, this future is mostly empty space, a source of gravitational energy, and is a void waiting for us to float up to it."
