You sigh. A bit frustrated. There’s no real reason to help her. There’s no clear benefit of doing so and you’ll just be losing out on a pretty important amount of cash, you’ll paint a bright target on your back, and you aren’t even sure that mangy mutt would come to your aid if it came down to a brawl. You are first and foremost, there’s no reason to put your ass on the line for someone you’ve just met.

It took her a moment, but she managed to catch her breath. She looks at you for a moment, confused, you are afraid she didn’t understand until the girl responds.

She bows her head politely and thanks you before leaving. You hope you were able to make yourself clear.
