While you decide what to ask her, she rocks the cat resting in her arms. She's humming a vaguely familiar melody, but you can't quite put your finger on it.
"While we're on the subject of anomalies, I'm worried about IN LIMBO." You nervously glance over towards IN LIMBO's containment cell. "My gut's telling me it's not going to be around much longer. What are your...thoughts on it?"
She stops humming. "I think it's best f-for her to move on. T-the s-state she's in? I-I can't imagine l-living like that, Vincent."
"I get that, but I'm. I'm worried I won't make the right choice." Fear creeps into your words. "That I'll HAVE to make a choice when I go in there."
"Y-you've been there for h-her for the last week. Y-you've tended to her, y-you've taken care of her, s-she even gave you a gift. Isn't it only fair to s-send her off?"
"I-I think that's what she's thinking, at least. I-I'd bring Anthony in there if I were you."
"Why?"
"<span class="mu-b">He'd understand her situation.</span> D-dunno why." A weak laugh escapes from her lips. "D-don't worry about the choice too much. J-just listen to her, okay?"
You stoically nod. That's the best you can do for her. A light bulb flicks on in your head. "Oh, right, how have Nicole and Liz been?"
"N-not great." "Ah, thought so. The last time I saw them together, they were arguing a whole bunch."
"Mmh hmm. Y-you know that August g-guy who was messing with my d-drugs? One of her friends was f-forced to work with him. I-I think his name was <span class="mu-b">Benjamin?</span>"
"H-He supposedly m-made a lot of shady stuff for August. Using an artifact he a-apparently stole from one of the labs in Layer 3."
"So why was Nicole arguing with Liz then?"
"L-Liz thought that th-the one who stole it wasn't Benjamin but one of the <span class="mu-b">security guard squad leaders</span>." Oh? You wonder if Ashton or Anthony might know anything then.
"A-apparently there's a rampant drug problem amongst a l-lot of the guards here and they relied on August for...a lot of stuff."
A brief grimace flashes across your face. Yeah, you had to deal with one yesterday, it was not remotely enjoyable.
"Nicole basically sides with whatever ARC says, though, so she didn't like Liz's theory."
"I-I like Nicole, I do, but she...doesn't like to think for herself. She's always trying to appease ARC, like her whole life revolves around them."
Lucy slumps her shoulders. "I-it's a bunch of dumb, stupid stuff that's happening because of some drug-producing artifact. Liz was trying to f-find where the artifact could be but, uh. She told me about yesterday."
Ah, she was looking for any paperwork tying the artifact back to security.
