Ahriman found that he had to sleep for several days and nights under the influence of the Susan Membrane in order to recover all the might that he lost these last few months. During this time he had dreams but they were not of the normal kind. Gone were the dreams that plagued the sorcerer with the sights of a red giant or the incineration of his brother.
No, his dreams were of a sense that he could not make real.
They were of past battles where the Psyker had released his might into killing hundreds or the righteous slaughter of mutants on the gulfs of humanity. Of his home upon Terra when he was but a young boy to be inducted into the Marines.
They were all pleasant. The feeling of freedom or the feelings of success when his Legion was first released upon the galaxy. Such pleasantries were but pains that Ahriman did not experience for several years now.
As he sat upon his bed side awaken for the first time in a week, he thought about it.
As a psyker he had learned that dreams were some of the first passages into the warp. The body was left in a state vulnerable against the outside forces which ebbed and flowed outside of time. A normal man might see something in a dream and then years late see something in reality that recalled it. He might be confused why this happened, but Ahriman knew that this was because the man was subtly connected to the Warp.
There have been many times in history where man has seen the future in dreams. It became a trope within their literature because it was so prevalent that it became an accepted idea. With the advent of psykers and now the Creeds of the Imperial Truth, Ahriman knew this to be in fact part of mankind’s Psychic awakening.
These dreams he dreamed this last week was not those of the future. No. They were of a past life which Ahriman served honorably in with all his might at the side of his brother.
He took a moment and held within his hands the amulet which was given to him by TalOS. It felt odd as the item blinded him to the world he always saw things. It was hard to get used to not having his Witch Sight, to understand a man before he even spoke. If it meant his survival though Ahriman was more than willing to wear this Amulet for his entire life, if nothing else than to keep alive the memory of his brother.
But his brother had yet to die, Ahriman still had time to try and save him!
