"You're gonna give me all the data on the computer's drive, as well as everything you stole from Warren." you demanded. "And I mean everything."
Dmitri muttered something under his breath, and you took delight in the fact that you were at least able to get under his skin. You didn’t doubt that he probably had backups of most of his files, but you had no real way of making sure that he properly disposed of all of them.
"Very well…" he agreed, hesitantly. "Is there anything else?"
You nodded. "Yeah. Walk me through your plan to silence your men and cover up the evidence."
The corners of Dmitri's lips curled upwards into a devious grim; his flat, reptilian facial features making it seem all the more unnerving.
"The answer is far simpler than you might imagine. First, we would need to take out the men that managed to evade capture. That is by far the easiest part of the plan."
"What about the teleporter?" you asked. "Couldn't she run interference or just straight up escape?"
He shook his head. "We want to force her to retreat, so it'd be best to save her for last." he said. "Once she thinks that she's been cornered, she will retreat back to one of our other fallback points, where I have set up cameras, motion sensors, and remote explosives. Before she can even regain her bearings, she'll be nothing more than a stain on the wall."
Damn…now that's just cold.
Dmitri must've been able to read your thoughts through your body language, because he chuckled darkly at his own plot.
"Teleporting is only useful if the other person doesn't know where you'll end up." he said simply.
You gestured for him to continue with his explanation.
"Once that's done, we will systematically go after any of my remaining men that have separated from the main group. By using our encrypted radio frequency, I can locate anyone still holding onto their transceiver." he explained. "Anyone that isn't holding one, has either been imprisoned, or they have decided to abandon the mission entirely. Those that have already fled will be difficult to find, but not impossible. And judging from the result of our coordinated assault, they are not very likely to capitalize on the little knowledge they have about the people important to you."
"I don't like loose ends." you said in a flat tone. "Even if you didn’t tell them my secret identity outright, they already know far more than they reasonably should!”
Dmitri hummed thoughtfully. “We’ll worry about that later. For now, we’ll need to figure out how to stage a prison break without letting anyone know what we’re up to.”
You raised an eyebrow at him. “Run that by me again?”
