>>6156305Before you could rest, it would be best if you picked up Elric. You’d left the boy to distract the Magic Seal, and evidently he’d done his duty well. Leaving your companions behind to look after Alvin, you shuffle alone down to the basement. Passing the various corpses of the Riahi that you’d left strewn about down here, you walk through the hallway until you wind up in front of the Magic Seal’s door. Opening it, you are nearly blinded by the colorful pink and white that decorates the interior. As your eyes settle to the unusual brightness, you find yourself staring at a massive child’s room. Stuffed animals and toys decorate the walls, as do various types of flowers that have somehow managed to bloom and survive down here. Pushed all the way to the back are several unmarked crates. In the center of the room is a table surrounded by several chairs that hold stuffed animals, along with Elric and 99. The room smelled of freshly brewed tea.
“Oh, Lord Tristain! Welcome back!” Elric pipes up cheerfully. “Have you rescued Sir Alvin?”
While you were risking your life against all manner of monsters, Elric had been down here having a tea party. You knew that he did so on your orders, but you somehow still couldn’t help but be pissed off. You merely grunt in affirmation, before trudging over to the table.
“Hey! You’re dragging blood into my room!” Magic Seal #99 protests.
>“Oh, sorry about that.” You plop down onto one of the table’s chairs, replacing its previous occupant; a stuffed wizard with a funny pointy hat. You give it a squeeze before tossing it away onto a nearby couch. “We finished upstairs. The assassins are all dead or gone. As are the Terrors and other less than desirable elements. You should be safe now. Well…probably, anyway. I’m not sure if any of the mages survived. Sorry.” You help yourself to some tea.99 frowns. “That’s too bad. It was kind of fun being kidnapped. Say, can you kidnap me next?”
>“I already have one brat following me around. How’s another going to help?” At least Elric didn’t stifle your magic with his presence. Being around 99 felt like being in a perpetual state of constipation. Even now, you knew your magic was there, but no matter what you tried, it would never come out. You didn’t care if the girl escaped her room, but it would have to wait until you and your companions were back at full health.“You don’t seem too sad about it.” Elric says to 99.
“None of the mages ever came down here.” 99 shrugs. “They were all scared of me. They only came to bring food and water. And occasionally to drop off artifacts in my room.” She points to the crates you saw earlier. “I hate those things. They’re so ugly. There’s nothing fun inside them either.”
>“How’d you get your abilities anyway?” You ask 99. “I’ve never even heard of someone like you.”
