Drach'nyen was injured, the Omnissiah knew that, but the concept of Murder was not something that could be killed. It was gaining so much power from the Materium as brother killed brother and betrayal occurred several dozen times a second.
He was, in such a way, the epitome of this war. Reduced to such a frivolous state the Daemon was still able to kill devour as it pleased. Even being a shard of a God the Omnissiah could not land the killing blow!
He watched then as the Daemon threw itself into the facial cavities of a nearby devotee. The next moment the being that he possessed was running while shooting a Volkite at the Omnissiah with little care for what happened.
The attacks continued but the Omnissiah did not care. With a thought he demanded the Machine Spirit to silence itself and the machine complied with his demands. In silencing itself Drach'nyen threw the weapon away and simply sank his teeth into a nearby Servitor. In an instant the flush that was Drach'nyen flowed into the body of the other and the Plasma Mortar upon its back fired with no rhyme or reason.
It was then that the Omnissiah realized what the Daemon was trying to do. As plasma rained across the area the Machine God’s Prophet willing a realm around him into a shimmer similar to a void shield. He could feel the impacts of each shot before he thrusted his hand forward and shattered the body that Drach'nyen was puppeted with a single pulse of thought.
However the Deamon once again bound hosts and this time found a Lantern of Charon. While they have had training to resist these kinds of possessions this was something else entirely. Drach'nyen was murder and thus not only powerful but very much a human experience that merged well with humanity.
In this bound they were one step closer to the frontlines and the Daemon’s escape. The wordless threat was clear, keep chasing and it will keep murdering as it wishes.
>Give into the chase, it faces the Omnissiah after all.
>Let him go, there will be another chance to kill it.
