The other took the glass in his hands and took a drink from it, “It is just like our brother’s, but weaker. You have also added a series of chemicals in it to simulate a flavoring.”
“That is true, I have found the draught made by Leman Russ to be ill suited for my means. It is not the kind of recreation that I wish for my sons to share between each other and I am sure many would hate it. No, instead simply sitting down next to one another is enough for me.”
“As most humans would.” answered the other Primarch as he took in another drink, “When it came to infultrating your ranks now was the best time to do so. Your sons, who were wayward across the stars, had come to integrate themselves. It was easy enough to set myself into that system and masquerade myself. It seems my error was putting a name on a report.”
“That might have been unless we did a head count. The name itself was also not an error as with you masquerading as a Marine it would have been an obvious difference between a Jermanic name and a Europan face. Your cover was built well too that while mainly of Jermani, there is still some diversity of human breeds among my children.”
“So you would place most of the blame on the Power Armor.”
TalOS gave a certain nod to his brother as he heard those words, “Your ignorance in the Machine God’s Spirits is what doomed your infiltration in the end. While I might have found other ways, such as hearing out your hearts or a blood test for your humors. You could avoid it possibly though by making sure I had never caught you out in the first place. You relied on your psychic abilities too much.”
The other Primarch took a longer sip than usual as TalOS could sense his body begin to operate. The amount of blood flow had risen and hormones were starting to cause a greater regulatory effect on the body. It was not hostile, but signs that he was thinking harder than before with a body supporting such thoughts.
TalOS simply answered those thoughts, “You did not know to what extent you were psychic.”
The nameless Primarch simply gave a nod to those words, “You are correct, I did not.”
It was TalOS this time who drank from his artisan fashioned mug, “Every human is psychic to some extent whether they realize it or not. This will manifest in simple things, like a ‘feeling they are being watched’ or a ‘feeling that something bad will happen’. For better and worse the Blackstone Fortress robes every man of this subtle ability.”
“I did not realize I had any gifts.” The Primarch answered with his blood flow changing subtly through his body. A lie it seems. TalOS could not help but notice though that upon himself realizing that fact, the face of his brother became tense.
