>>5873591Sobol ignored him. “Crazy or not at least they’re doing the worst of the fighting for us. They really are a mixed bag though. Our platoon was lucky, we had the Tiger pushing our front. He seems like a stand-up guy. I heard Stalnoy almost got fragged twice by friendly fire from the guys on the southern front.”
“To be fair it was either that or get mauled by a mega ursid. Yeah the IFVs got dinged up but Stalnoy didn’t lose any men from that.”
“When you put it that way, I suppose I can let that slide.” Mega ursids were no joke, especially those used by the Red Riders.
“Word on the grapevine is that General Kovalev is pouring more and more money into them,” said Andreev leaning forward. “I don’t like it; we can’t be relying on people whose only loyalty is to money.”
“If we could rely on ourselves, we would have never hired them in the first place,” sighed Melnyk. “Our military wasn’t ready for this war. For better or worse we need these guys.”
“Zavrazin warned them about this,” growled Sobol. “Been trying to modernise the NOAF for years, but what did the higher ups do? Cut his funding and busted him down to Major. Now even they have to see he was right.”
Melnyk glanced at his friend uneasily, the conversation was starting to turn dangerous.
“Hindsight’s 20/20. Besides as it stands the NOAF outnumbers the Neromians, once our reinforcements start coming in it’s only a matter of time before we kick them back across the sea. We won today, things will only get better for us moving forward.”
Sobol shot an annoyed look at his friend. How could this guy still be so naïve even after everything that happened? In the end Sobol couldn’t be assed to dispel his friend’s fantasy and took a long swig from the beer can next to his plate.
“I hope so Melnyk. Saint help me I really hope so.”
((Alright that's it for the side stories. I just need to recap what everyone unlocked and the thread will be officially over.))
Pic related is an unfinished sketch of Dazle-1. I got the general concept down but there's so much about it I'm not happy with. I need to go back to studying art stuff before I can properly achieve my vision.
