The feeling that all possessed was something between a cruel tinge and a welcoming calm. Around the room were five men who all wore different color robes huddled themselves around a pair of candle like crystals that gave a soft hum of energy. Even the one who would describe themselves as super human stood near the light as a human would a source of heat.
Around them was the light consuming Blackstone. While the room played host to a variety of lights none of them were able to truly keep the place alit. The only real source of light was the table before the men as they stood before the table watching it animate.
They were of course not the only ones within the room. Around them were a series of guards from all walks of service. All present had some form of augmentation upon them whether it be mechnaical or organic. Those of the organic variety would easily be described as super-human but those who were mortal were still comparable to those who possess only metal.
They were however not working as of now. Instead each of them were watching for the doors at the far end of the room to open. None at the present really saw the need for small talk as they used these spare moments to organize their own people. One of them however did not have the capability of such communication but he simply kept his slince for it was bred into his being to keep it. Such a thing was common among his breed, unlike the great amount of his cousins.
As many of them were wrapping up their exchanges of information the door on the other end of the room opened with the sound of heavy mechanical pistons. While previously the door would have been effortlessly opened through psychic effects no longer did this vessel possess such luxuries and was hence replaced with a mechanical mechanism. The one who stepped out of the door quickly grabbed everyone’s attention.
They first thing the group assembled saw was the blackened steel robe that the person was wearing. A series of red highlights went all about the cloth declaring the one a member of the Crusade Force. If one were to look deeper they would notice the hard lined metal plates that covered the person’s arms.
Those who were aware of such legends would place it similar to that of a Knight whose cloth covered their armor. A divine state of thought that had been within the mind of humanity for entire epochs of their existence. To this person, four of the five men gave a bow while the remaining one gave the sign of the Aquila.
The person raised the cloth to expose a helm instead of a head. Each of those present would compare it not to the head of a normal human, but to that of the God Machines of the Mechanicum.
“Raise your heads. We shall begin.” Declared TalOS DAV1S as he looked upon his compatriots.
