So then you can while away the evening, enjoying cooked food and observing the humans go about their little lives. Emil prattling on about his thoughts and stories, Ubaid using his riding blanket and outer robes along with hewn branches to make a private shelter for Farhana, and the two of them taken to some prayer ritual before she retires for the night. The lot of them are quite exhausted from the day, and even you are tired.
Though by the crackling fire amid the forest, the moon visible through the treetops above, you have your own little scheme to try. The effort with the zombies and trying to shift the blame, opened you up to a possible new approach with the humans, and relying on communication with them. Of course you don't expect much success there, being a terrifying and huge sea monster of bloodthirsty intent and demeanor. But small victories here and there, you expect will net you the final victory over the humans in the end.
So you invite Ubaid to talk after Emil for awhile, listening to his reserved conversation but actually thinking of what you want to say. Eventually at his curiosity towards your demands for the hostage exchange, you can lead into a nice little sob story about your mother. Being separated from her, just wanting to find her again, worrying for her sake about those evil-doers who seek her harm. Indeed the undead weren't your fault, it's an attack on you and your dear departed mother!
Why, everything you've done, has been in labor of trying to find and help family... and really, wouldn't he or any human do the same?
<span class="mu-s">"If you speak truly, then why keep the women? The other survivors you allowed to go free, what help does it for your mother to not let Farhana go?"</span>
Clever human, although fairly predictable in his motive. You feel that Ubaid might believe some of your story, at least the intentions because that much is true, you do indeed seek to find or save your mother. Everything you've done has been in service to that, some way or another. But if he is to accept your condition as a separated family, they why couldn't you give up both women after rescuing them, or indeed free her now?
It betrays his sensibilities, since seemingly regardless of the circumstances, he still holds the wellbeing of the noble lady first in his concerns. As long as you have her he is yours to control, and the moment you lose her you expect the same of him. If only you could somehow twist this to your advantage, or maybe Ubaid just isn't the ideal captive you're looking for, even if he does have some good qualities. But there's always others, you know in fact that in a few days a greater assembly of noble humans will be waiting for you, after all...
