>>5185772It seems Casca really did want to stay with Guts, at least after she had nowhere to go and he opened himself up to live with her. If only it didn't come during such innadequate circumstances.
"It came as a shock to me... I didn't even know how she managed to find me, but part of me felt guilty that our happiness came at the cost of his... So we decided to come back. We've heard Judeau was hiding with a small group of survivors back there, and since Griffith was still alive. I thought I could write at least one of my wrongs..."
"Was he really guilty in killing the Queen?"
"Yeah. Though I helped him a little on that regard... She was one of the main players conspiring against Griffith, even going so far as to try and poison him. I had to exit the party to take care of some goons while he set her ablaze. Looking back on it, it was probably only a matter of time before someone found out. Or for Griffith to make a mistake..."
After he heard your side of the story, he seems to make more sense of what happened.
"I'll be honest. I was one of the guys wanting to off your head when the news arrived to me. But now that I know what he's capable of... I should have killed him on that snowy day while he was down on his knees!"
"How did he transform during the eclipse?" The mere mention of the eclipse made Guts clench his fists as he remembered the horrible things that happened there.
"After we saved him from his torturers... After all we've been through... After fighting the apostles sent my way... After promising to revive the falcons in his honor... When I finally reunited with my comrades...He... Killed them all... No one was left! And Casca... After all the young lives he took, he decided to go after Casca and..." Your empathic ability shows a clear image of a bird demon resembling Griffith forcing himself onto Casca as she mercilessly screamed at the sight of her friends being battered and brutally killed all around them. Guts tried to chop his arm off the teeth of another apostle, just for the sake of saving the woman he loved and gotten to know better for the best part of a year, only to be taken down and have his eye gouged out by another apostle, powerless to stop the raping that happened before his eyes. Were it not for the Skull Knight showing up and saving the two from that horrid dimension... You don't want to know how Femto would have finished his transformation ceremony.
"He always starts to stutter around that part of the story. Anyway, he's been killing all sorts of randos ever since that happened. It wasn't all bad though, he saved me when I was stuck in some evil count's land. That's where we found Becchi! I've been trying to keep his good side showing ever since. I would feel bad in leaving him behind, poor guy can't be trusted by himself." Puck chimes in to explain the remaining events.
"I know what the brand does to a person... How did you manage to survive for this long without knowing magic?"
