>>5680577>watch documentaries, movies and read websites to prepare for worldbuilding / game setting immersion, authenticityhehe I also do this. I mentioned it before but I had an idea for a pure image quest, where every update is just a scene from a film and you have to imagine and concatenate the images to understand what is going on. And also any action you undertake has to be another screen capture from a film or some catchphrase or film script dialogue etc but this is probably too high effort for participants here though I wonder if it could be used to lure some /tv anons hehe.
>Age Of SailMaster and Commander is such a good film, I always like these period pieces which transport you into completely different and historically self-contained settings. There are some really memorable lines of dialogue from Russell Crowe (when he is trying to rile the crewmen in anticipation of the battle against the French) There is his "This Ship Is England" speech
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mq1YthGFjRIbut the one I remember is this one, I was trying to find the line from some online film script transcripts but they are not always 100% accurate to the final film dialogue.
It is this scene:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=goW9yUUvhb0Capt. Jack Aubrey : Lads, that is not good enough! We need to fire two broadsides to her one. Do you want to see a guillotine in Piccadilly?
Crew : No!
Capt. Jack Aubrey : Want to call that raggedy-arse Napoleon your king?
Crew : No!!
Capt. Jack Aubrey : You want your children to sing the "La Marseillaise?"
Crew : NO!!!
