Vadar glanced at his fellow for a moment as he took in what he had learned, “My Father will not let you leave without repaying you. In our brothership you had helped merge with our new kin, you became a linchpin in his Reconquest.”
“And his reward shall be?”
“Men and materials, just as you gave us. I am sure my Father wished he could give you a present as well but without a Primarch it might ring empty or damage his relationship with a future brother.”
“We will be in a continued cycle of debt.” Pointed out the Imperial Fist as he took in a wise realization.
“Then it would be best that you keep assisting us.” declared the Astartes as he gave a bow, “Even if it is only a company of brothers or something as great as a Chapter, it would result in equilibrium at some point in either of our lifetimes.”
To those words the Imperial Fist finally shined to his cousin a smile, “That is an acceptable arrangement. We shall present it to your Father.”
“If he does not already know it happened.” Declared Vadar as he looked at a Tech Priest who was glancing in their direction.
The two of them began to move with swiftness as soldiers. Orderly in their movement that it almost rivaled that of machines. The two had placed their helmets on, so that they did not need to bother carrying it upon their belts. It also gave the added luxury of being able to talk to one another without having to break step when marching forward.
They had been like this quite a few times. Both of them had the desire to get right to the job when the chance came to them. It was a waste of everyone’s time after all if you did not come straight up to them to inform the person.
They had marched like this multiple times. First was the Emperor of Mankind when they were first assigned their positions as Legion Masters, followed by the first time they had to report to Horus Lupercal. Then there was the brief time they intercepted with the Wolf King, but that moment was so early in the Crusade and right before the Wolfen Vernika threw themselves into the stars.
