”...Okay...” You manage to squeeze out. The AI smiles.
“I'm glad you chose this path, Radjo. And with all luck, you won't need to come see me again! Oh- look at that! The immigration department has already approved your transfer to Andoen! That was quick- the AI that runs that must have really want you over there! Isn't that great?!”
You don't say anything. There's nothing else to say. You just don't want to be bitter and angry about this. You'd rather just feel sad- or nothing at all. But you aren't just going to leave. You are going to send a message to Kima first, tell her where you are going- and maybe drop a hint you want to see her one last time before you go. That would be really nice...
You are now Sunshine. The Yellow Haazar. You are currently in the process of moving. While you aren't an especially high ranking or powerful Haazar among the people of Xin, you are a crossbreed between a Swall and a Hazaar. Because of how smart the Swall are, you inherited some of that ability- and have received a few privileges associated with your class. It only took a few years for your transfer request to be approved; and now you live in a new place. You have an apartment on Xin now- Class 12 Housing!
Look at this apartment! Hermetically sealed, with all this space just for yourself. Your own toilet and shower system- no more communal bathrooms! Plus with the terraforming project being in its ending stages, you won't be needing to do as much hard labor, so no more sleeping in tents far from civilization! This comfort! You may even get a cushy job working with a government simulator until you finish your schooling into a scientific field... though you still aren't sure exactly what field you want to go into. You can even order your own food, choose what you eat, not forced to abide by a strict cafeteria nutritional schedule. This is amazing! Life has just gotten way sweeter now!
The apartments where you live have a few separate housing units- and communal spaces where Haazar can talk and hang out. Of course, it's segregated from the Jaxtian housing units, but that's to be expected. And there is nothing wrong with that! After all, you'd hate to offend the host species that took such care to raise and train you.
But then again... you don't really like the Jaxtians very much. You don't hate them, but ever since you stuck up for Yuan and didn't rat him out to the Enforcer at the party, you've felt more and more that you are among your people here. You may always be a subject of the Hegemony, but in your heart you are a Haazar!
