Magnus could feel the changes in the air and raised his hands. Warpfire quickly sprung from all around him that raced towards TalOS. His hope was for these baleful attacks to reach his brother Faster than he himself could have. Instead though he felt his magics interweaved and dismissed as the Titan’s eyes glowed a powerful green.
“Magnus.” Called out his brother as he widened what Magnus could only describe as progaming to a several yard radius, “You have been a Prisoner of Magic for too long and forever shall you be. In your ignorance you have neglected the Truth of the Universe. That the Warp is but a pale imitation of what reality can do.”
“Sorcery is how we will uplift humanity!” Declared Magnus quickly, “Even our Father knows this even if he fights against it! The Fate of Mankind is Psychic Ascension!”
He could see it. He could see what was a weary smile cressing the face of his brother as the next words were spoken, “That is where your foolishness stands. To believe that Mankind needs to become something it is not to achieve greatness.”
Then he felt it. The shifting of the warp and the barriers that were between it and reality. The Webway which was created by the Old Ones meticulously skillfully rendered with the processing of reality. He could barely understand in this second what was happening but could feel the shifting as the Warp itself screamed.
“When we were born we all live in Ignorance.” The being that Magnus’s Brother has become spoke with authority that was unbecoming of even a Primarch, “It is the duty of each society to uplift this man into knowledge. To gift to him the insights that were denied by the Universe for several millions years!”
Time was displaced, Magnus realized. The Warp was never aligned with reality but had almost always lived alongside it.
Only now did Magnus realize those words. He had always believed that the Warp was part of the Material Universe and as such had a symbiotic relationship. He could see it now, the first creature of the Universe to have gained thought. In this single second he was one with the lifeform that would be the ancestor to the Old Ones living upon the rivers banging two rocks together.
It was in this creature’s mind that the Warp was born. From its thoughts it was melded. The Chaos Gods simply echoes of its thoughts as it worked to fight, scheme, seduce, and die. Such a grand mind it had that it led to what now gripped the Universe.
But then it was gone, TalOS using this creature only as a bridge to something far older and greater.
