Lucian’s head was bowed towards the great Duke Guion as he sat upon his throne. Lucian was not by himself but coupled with both Adok and Tee-Nee-Tyny, the pair of them helping to explain the story of what happened underneath his Castle.
It was unusual, almost heretical, to have allowed Lucian’s companions with him into Castle Bastonne. Such a place was closest to the most holy site in all of Bretonnia sans perhaps the First Chapel of Aquitaine and a few others. It was law that even the Peasants were not allowed to look upon its Holy structure lest their sight poison the walls of it.
Yet there were exceptions. Nobles were allowed here, which meant any kind of Noble. Previously the Duke had allowed Adok to live at this residence as a Smith, for with the Title of Runesmith he was argued equivilent to a Nobleman.
The Lizardman was the harder of the two. However the Castle was in shock over not only the collapse of the fields, but from what the Knights Errants meeting Lucian and his group saying was that many Skaven had thrown themselves onto the surface in a fatal attempt to escape their incineration. They were all cut down like the beastmen everyone thought them to be, yet only they three knew what happened.
As for why it was only three, it was clear that Adolf Wigmar had fled when the Skaven surfaced. Using them as cover he could have easily slain a Knight and had stolen the man’s horse. If he was now in possession of Dark Powers things could have gone far more swift Lucian could imagine.
The Duke rubbed his chin in compilation and thought. The story they had given him surely seemed to have been spun by the cloth of madmen, yet what happened had clear evidence. When they had come to the Castle they were all caked in the black blood of the Skaven until they were washed of the taint by one of the Noble Servants.
In addition Lucian was still feeling off. While they were washed off it was quick so that the Duke could get his information. He had been feeling somewhat weird ever since the fight with the Hellpit Abomination.
He has yet to collapse from all the wounds he’s received, and the Knight knows that he received many. He should be dead yet he was still alive and still able to kneel towards the Lord.
An Epic worthy of a Hero, that is what they told the Duke. Yet Lucian did not even have the temperment to collapse at the injuries to drive home how dangerous his fight had been.
