>>5620057The Totally Hero Association Member listened to the girl's life story as he ordered two bowls of ramen, making sure to check the menu pricing and cringing a little. Fuck it, he deserved a good meal for a good day's work. As the teen kept on talking about how she saw through his "probing" and "interview tactics", Shinon simply improvised everything and pretended the kid was on a job application - Watanabe had plenty of those before, thankfully not with Bob the Troll. Someone else interviewed him and had to get stitches.
God above, this was incredibly manga shounen cliche, did Kaede read the newest Jump magazine?! Her body moved on her own, that quote that totally didn't reek of that expensive manga about... what were they called again? Traits? Quirks? A boy crying?
Kaede saw the interviewer's face harden even more as she reached the part about leaving at 14 while needing to complete her education. He wanted to say "I totally understand how you feel", but that may endanger the façade. Also, his childhood didn't involve a 14 year old Shinon leaving a shitty family behind him, so it wasn't certain if the salary worker truly understood.
"I lack experience. I don't know how to work in a team as a Hero. I lack training as my power awakened yesterday. I lack in physical condition, as I haven't started my hero work out yet."
Ho, that sounds like an extremely underqualified person trying to squeeze in a high net worth position, like a young adult fresh out of college applying for his dream job - it won't work no matter what you do. No experience meant that nobody would hire you, no training meant that internship was an unreachable goal. Shinon Watanabe barely knew anything about hero-relevant things, but one thing was clear - this girl is serious or her head's as big as mount Everest, someone had to peg that ego a couple of steps.
>"Interesting, at least you are honest about it. Not a lot of applicants do that, 80% lie in their resumes."The Hero Association Member folded his hands, did he find something unacceptable about her answers, did she fail?! She can't die here, not in a ramen shop no less, Kaede had to become a he-
>"I suggest you fix those flaws as soon as possible, miss. You may have potential, but even C ranked heroes have been known with more experience - especially during these chaotic times."Kaede reached for her bowl, but was interrupted by a large paper flier being slapped in front of her. It didn't have any images, barely any design at all - did a rookie make this flier? Regardless of the quality, the letters were full of energy, as if a beast of a man tried to draw with a small marker.
"KAI NEEDS YOU TO FIGHT ON, VISIT THE DOJO!"
"WILL YOU FIGHT?"
Along with the schedule, dojo "master's" full name and address. For some reason, no price was on the flier...
>"Try this, i've heard only good things about it."Of course it's great, no subscription costs?! It had to be a scam, absolutely - but what if it wasn't?
