>>5486381I know that was a shit ton of rolls, but that was mainly to show you the machine behind the curtain, so to speak. In the future I’ll be doing rolls offsite and simply post attack results, easier for everyone involved.I also shouldn't have made a heavy melee mech fight a medium melee mech in a 1v1. Lessons learned, most fights won't be this much of a pushover. You begin a stoic march in the eternal snow, the pilot of the Venerable Mars granting you the honor of the first strike.
You are determined to also make it the last strike of this match.
With just a hint of joy you flicker the triggers for all three of your missile racks, feeling the shaking in your mech’s frame as nearly 50 tubes of ordnance leave their tubes and squarely impact the Mars’ chassis. You deliberately let the missiles go high, and yet a great number of them hit their targets, with most of the smaller ones landing squarely in the head and exposing a great deal of the inner systems within. The larger missiles scattered across the rest of the body but still dealt some major blows.
Still, you were far from finished. Even as Ursudat was bracing from the impacts of the missiles, you charged forward and unleashed a flurry of powerful blows with your heavyweight fisticuffs. You rend the Mars’ armor in multiple places, including one particularly powerful right hook bypassing his shield and torso armor completely. From that wound you can see and even partially feel the warping waves of his nuclear reactor. Victory is already in sight for you, but Sir Ursudat and his Mars are determined to not go down easily.
Before you get a chance to back away, the Mars brings its mighty mace to bear upon your mech, and you get warnings of minor breaches in your right leg and arm as he wails on you. Just as soon though, he backs off and begins to cower behind his buckler, presenting his relatively undamaged shield to you at all times. It seems he’ll be playing defensively from now on to cover his weakened plates.
(Mars’ turn:
Assault Protocol (Heavy Melee) -6 PWR
Assault Protocol (Heavy Melee) -6 PWR
Guard Protocol (Mech Shield) -5 PWR.
Effects of Guard Protocol: Until the end of its next activation, do not roll hit locations for the mech. Instead, the result of any hit location roll is the LOC of the most armored Shield system of the mech.)
>You are currently at MEL range from the Mars. You have 32 PWR.>What protocols will you use?>Marching Protocols (2 PWR, move back up to MEL->MED, can't be used unless Retreat Protocols used)>Assault Protocols: Heavy Melee (6 PWR, 3 HEAT); If moving out of MEL range: Activate Missile Batteries (3 PWR, 3 HEAT), Medium Missiles (6 PWR, 3 HEAT)>Retreat Protocols (5 PWR, allows moving out of melee range)>Lockdown Protocols (2 PWR, can't be used with any Marching Protocols, Ranged weapons get +2 ACC until end of activation)
