It is the year 203 of the Resurrection Era. Notable current events? The death of the once-immortal Cijan Anak, the 100 year anniversary of alien reintegration of the Hegemony, and the Esaal's genocidal attack on a far off planet. To top it off? The Supreme Ruler has gone into seclusion following an unspecified illness.
https://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/2025/6266528/You were hoping these last few years would be kinder. You finally achieved your dream of opening a Slicery right here, on Myym, the planet-wide megacity built on the ruins of Swallia, your species homeworld. The transfer request wasn't that difficult after all, the city is meant to be the height of your culture and jewel of the Hegemony; and specialist dining and entertainment is a massive part of making that bit of civic planning a reality. Though you don't think Swall are "first in line" exactly; much more important to place them in aquatic and amphibious environments on the various Hegemonic planets. All that underwater space otherwise of little use to the surface-dwelling Hegemonians...
You look out over the interior space. Trees underneath an ocean. It's quite uncanny, living in what is essentially a giant forest. The large open spaces do not make your race feel very at home here. But where else are you supposed to go? This was your homeworld. Though the Hegemony has made a very good job at having you all feel welcome; not at all an underclass as the “aliens” were once treated. Nothing like the Hazaar, or even the days of Cijan Anak. His death was the last legacy of your place in the Hegemony before Wrix Val, the Unspeakable. And now, with the Esaal attack...
To be blunt, the Swall are not doing good right now. You've tried to distance yourself from politics and things like that to focus on your craft, but even you can't ignore it. The Esaal attack hurt the Swall worse of all the Hegemony's races. Millions of Swall were killed, and Migrators too of course, but many Swall feel that that ocean world could have been “your new home” as it were, or at least one of the more promising planets. And here you are, looking over the hollow interior of what was once your homeworld and natural habitat...
You've got a pretty good head on your shoulders, and think you represent the average Swall's opinion. How do the Swall feel about the transformation of your planet?
