The man bows, and you make your way up the steps behind one of your guards, who may or may not be wondering why you've suddenly got such a vested interest in being led around your own palace. You suppose it can't be helped. If things go well and you live to see the dawn, you must get to exploring the palace by yourself.
The official rushes ahead, disappearing through the doorway. Once you are up, you follow at a more relaxed pace. It's through the doors, then left, passing the entrance to the throne room and heading deeper into the palace. The corridor leads to the inner courtyard, which you cross, following your oblivious guide towards the balcony. As you walk past the grove, you note the gardener still hard at work. The guard turns left under the balcony, heading through a doorway and down another corridor. At its end is a small, square room, the door to which he opens with a bow. Inside the space is perhaps ten yards to a wall, with shaded columns lining its sides and a pool in its centre. Above, there is a square hole in the ceiling, and sunlight is beaming down at an angle. The guard closes the door behind you and you notice five servants standing behind the columns, coloured towels and oils in their hands.
