Against Lucian’s opening strike the Vampire had thrown up a parry. The woman trying to leverage her immense strength against the man so that she could simply overwhelm and rip out his neck. What she did not expect through was the moment their weapons connected, that the Scythe seemingly sparked with a burst of lighting that sent her across the deck.
Lucian’s arms screamed as he felt the blow back of the attack. Even as the Rune of Drengi, the Rune of Slayers, sang for what was his greatest grudge of his lifetime he did not feel the full strength he was capable of wielding. Looking at the place they made contact the floor had been shattered to reveal the dirt laden ballast that was underneath.
“Fool! Are you trying to destroy this vessel!?” The Vampire screamed at him as she examined her sword for damage, “This is now where we should be fighting if you are carrying a cannon as a weapon!”
Lucian charged her, not caring for her words or reason. Lucian was going to kill her and that was all he really reasoned for the moment. The speed she moved at though was something he could not belive. How the Vampire narrowly slithered like a snake around his blade, wary that its blade was more than enough to kill her with a single stroke.
He could see her, witness her, but he failed to strike her. Yet as she tried to strike like a serphant Lucian was already blocking the blade and trying to slam her with his fist. She was impacted, yet the strength of Lucian’s blow was dampened by that rock hard skin he knew to expect.
She rode the blow, being blown back just enough that she was one the other side of the stairs that Lucian had been blocking. She gave a smirk as she ran up in a blur of motion Lucian could barely see.
He gave chase, the burning hatred of all that were living festering in his chest as he did so.
