More than just the large and varied population, but the skill and talent they must have attracted in order to make splendor out of ruins. The great hall is proof enough of that, with uniquely aquatic style and cultural decoration adorning every vestige of old Atlantean remnants. Replacing that of the land dwellers, with the sea dwellers, you like it.
More than just how well the structures are appointed though, but the clear signs of engineering, magical in nature to improve the lives of the denizens here. And all of it overseen by the king himself, surely responsible in part or in whole.
<span class="mu-s">"Oh... O, great sea King! By the will of God have we found our way to your court, finding no worthy substitute!"</span> Faysal tries to keep up appearances, maintain that song and dance of his in confidence, though the impressive circumstances you find yourselves in clearly caught him off guard. He doesn't just prostrate himself before the court though, something you'd expect of a lesser human, and he remains standing beside you when coming to stop a ways before the throne. <span class="mu-s">"Across... across land and under sea we travel, seeking-"</span>
<span class="mu-b">"You know who I am... look around and see, not just some legend."</span> you interrupt Faysal bluntly, speaking powerfully enough in the water for all to feel it in the room. The little human got you this far, but you finally reached the top of the ladder so it's time to speak for yourself. <span class="mu-b">"Who are you though, that I may judge you worthy to rule in the wake of my destruction."</span>
How scandalous! How uncouth! Gasps and protests from the assembly, as more members of the court trickle in the longer you remain. Your suggestion even prompts the drawing of weapons, at least in display rather than threat. Interestingly the king remains stoic however, allowing a lesser merman serving as chamberlain to handle such matters.
<span class="mu-s">"King Idaios has justly ruled Atlantis for many centuries now, tirelessly providing for our safety and our future! All you see before you, our thriving society is due to his reign! A timely era of peace and prosperity, and welcome to all!"</span> the handsome merman has quite a way of speaking, addressing the assembly as much as you and drawing cheers and affirmation. Whether or not the sea king is actually a good leader or not, these people at least seem to favor him. <span class="mu-s">"Though this court... recognizes, the divine lineage of The Drowned, our King is just as divinely derived! The name, Tanaloa, is revered as the godly founder of our civilization. Yet as son of the goddess Thessalia, there can be none better to rule now than King Idaios!"</span>
