So I think I might give my new mashed together jumble dice pool system a try; it has been three games since I last did a dice roll-driven quest hehe.
The next setting I run will probably be just a pure dungeon crawl it may be a bit random with haphazard OSR antics hehe (noooo what happened to writing the romantic love poem quest noooo... well I gave up on that one). The dungeon layout will probably be somewhat randomly generated / randomly populated.
In the next quest, which I am tentatively calling
DREAMS Of The FIRE
Every player has their own character.
Do not worry about actions / decisions synchronising across time zones etc there will be a drop in drop out system, it will not affect the narrative or combat too much (though more rolls and skills will probably be more helpful / provide more options etc). I will scale the difficulty dynamically based on how many people are active in the party.
If you are interested, you can just roll the recommended default 6d100 here
>>5425069and I will pregenerate a character with profile picture for you, integrated into the lore of the world (ie my setting turboautism).
...
If you are heavily interested, you can upload your own image / bio / backstory, and follow the detailed custom character instructions out of the 10 slots:
1/ decide how many lifepaths;
min 1, max 4; must roll 1d100 for every chosen 1
>>54248872/ decide how many skill slots (0-9)
You can either write in what you want them to be, or leave them blank and see what will turn up in the quest. Skills are rooted in the core attributes (cannot exceed the die step size)
3/ decide how many items. Roll (0-9) d100
>>54250334/ decide how many Tarot. Roll (0-9) d100
>>5425047The total of
Lifepaths / Skills / Items / Tarot
should sum to 10.
The recommended allocation is 3/4/2/1
Lifepaths / Skills / Items / Tarot
Note: in my games magic is not well-understood or formulaic; all magic is single-use and unique. Magic has unnatural consequences! Use at your own peril (evil DM laughter I have so many spells hehe)
Then roll the relevant number of 1d100, and allocate the attribute step dice yourself
d8 d8 d8 d6, or
d10 d8 d6 d6
Between STRENGTH INSTINCT WILL CHARM
...
If all this is too much work you can also write-in a vague archetype and I will see what can be done.
Generally in my games, everyone is human. Maybe this is negotiable...?
