“Mom?” you ask, suddenly equally confused and frightened by what she just said. There's something... Scary in how serious your mother looked, but without waiting for another word she turns, grabbing her hat, cloak and staff from where they were set by the doorway, donning her hat and cloak before turning to the stairwell leading up to the roof. Without another word she leaves, leaving you, Modoriiromoukin and your father alone in the room. You turn from the empty doorway, feeling more scared than ever as you look down at your father. Who looks... Sick. You've never seen your father look like this before, he looks pale.
Walking over you sit down by his right hand, reaching down you pick it up and hold it in both of your own. Only, as you do, suddenly feel your entire home hum with power. You immediately realize what's going on, your mother is drawing upon the tower's strength to cast her magic. You can feel it, the power of the entire planet being drawn into your mother, shaping it and using it to unleash her ultimate attack.
“EEEEXUUPLOOOOOOSION!!” you hear her roar, even through several floors of crystal. The tower itself was resonating with her voice, amplifying it along with her power. And as she does, you feel it. Your dad's hand twitches!
“Dad?!” you ask, looking down at him. And that's when you see his face all scrunched up, brows furrowed. “DADDY! You gotta get up, please! Something really bad is coming, we need you!”
“KRIIIIIIIIIIIIN!” Modoriiromoukin caws, spreading its wings and reflecting the light. All the light that hits its wings is refracted down, hitting your father in the face. Who winces at this, slowly raising his right hand out of your hands to shield his eyes.
“DADDY!” you shout, tears streaming down your face as you buryyour face in his chest. “I knew you'd wake up!”
“H-Hey Mel...Kid...do. Wh-Where?” he asks, his speech very halting and exhausted sounding.
“Mom's outside on the roof, fighting the bad guys coming.” you say, feeling his entire body tense up. Concerned, you pull your head back to look at his face, only to see his serious face. Clearly wanting to know more, you continue talking. “I was going to school, when I saw all the birds flying south away. It didn't make any sense until I felt what they were running from.”
At this, remembering the evil you'd felt take your arms back, rubbing your shoulders as a chill crawls up your spine.
“Something bad is coming. Something really, really bad.” you say, looking to him. “Can you stop it?”
