Today however, routine has been disrupted. A day that would normally bring more whipping, more praying, and more moving of heavy objects, instead brings disorder and uncertainty. Even the ever present bells do not gong how they are supposed to. The great bells do not ring systemically and orderly. Instead they simply ring, and without end. They ring for no greater purpose than defiance. Even as the sky churns orange, even as the fields ignite crimson, and the walls blister black, the bells of St.Maria threaten any who would dare attempt to breach its walls. You try to take solace in that fact and gather strength from those mighty chimes. Yet as you hide under a collapsed cart, the screams of farmers do more for your disposition than the bells ever could.
Xeno marauders have, by chance, picked this world to launch their campaign of terror. Their ships do battle in the skies with the overwhelmed local forces, while smaller craft descend on the surface to maim and murder every human they see. They did not come for the crop, nor did they come for slaves. They have come for revenge. Humanity has driven them to the edge of extinction, and they have now come to return the favour. Not that you will ever come to know this, all that you know is that they are here to bring death. All that you know is that you hate hate HATE the alien.
You need to reach the Chapel if you are to survive.
- Run for it [You have always been faster than your peers. Running faster and for greater spurts of time then most, your elder sister would often have you deliver letters for them]
- Sneak towards the Chapel [You are shorter and more apt at the art of concealment, more than once have you been brought before mother superior to be punished for sneaking out]
- Pray to the god emperor to give you strength [Having been saved from death by imperial servants, you have always had great faith in the emperor. It is often that your elders would comment on your devotion.]
