>>6324082>“Fine. I’ve never heard of slugs attacking humans before. And this is still a slug, isn’t it? Just a bit bigger is all. Let’s ignore it.”You and Crowley brave the buzzing swarm of mosquitoes as quickly as you can, pushing through towards the warp panel. The thought of getting close to that thing disgusts you. Not only was it leaving a thick trail of slime everywhere it crawled, but you also found the creature to be quite hideous. As you pass by it, you hear it emit a guttural growl. Did slugs usually do that? You didn’t think so. Before you can step on the panel, the slug lunges forward with surprising speed, taking a bite out of your leg.
>Tristain: 36/76 HP>“Ow! Get off!!” You pull at your leg, trying to release it from the slug’s surprisingly tight grip. You’d been lied to! These things weren’t passive at all! And if they were all just a bit bigger you were sure they’d have no qualms about attacking humans. Crowley makes it to the warp panel while you remain stuck in place, at least until you finally manage to shake the creature off. In retaliation, you give it a big kick, sending the creature hurdling through the muck.>Turn 19/40>Floor 29/40>“Thanks for the help back there!” You tell Crowley as you grab him by the collar. “What happened to not posing us any harm?”“I’m a mercenary! What do I know about slugs?!” Crowley exclaims, doing his best to look as apologetic as possible. “Besides, it didn’t cause you THAT much harm right? Just a little nibble is all. I knew you’d make it out okay.”
You’re ready to lay into the Dagdan more when you catch something glittering in the corner of your eye. You were in a room filled to the brim with more gold than you’d ever seen in your life. The floor was practically flooded with coins, surrounding tables that held a messy array of jewels, gems, artwork and tapestries. Several large chests were scattered throughout the place. Some of their lids were propped open, revealing additional treasure within. Others though were closed, their contents a mystery. At a glance, this room contained the makings of a small country’s treasury
>“Shit.” You exclaim breathlessly, surrendering your grip on Crowley. “This must be Xenophanes’ own personal stash.”“I’ve never seen so much gold in my life.” Crowley says in awe. “What’s it doing just sitting here?”
You pick up a gold coin, examining it closely. On its face was the image of Xenophanes, crafted in the same style as the country’s own currency. It certainly looked real enough. Then again, so did the mosquitoes, and yet they were still supposedly illusions.
“Ahh, I found the warp panel.” Crowley calls out. He’d kicked a locked chest to the side, revealing the panel underneath. “Is that it? This seems almost too easy.”
>“Maybe this is a sort of ‘break’ floor?” You suggest. “Kosmas did mention some floors may contain rest points to heal in.”
