“Oh ‘Prince of Love’, it is as if you do not know me at all,” she teases.
“Perhaps I was merely hoping you had changed and evolved, as I have,” you retort.
“Luckily for you, I am the same ruthless, brilliant mind as ever!” she replies cheerfully, turning on heel. “After all, you came here to ask about making a Dragonborn out of our offspring, did you not?”
You did—or at least, you’d hoped to discuss the possibility. The other Dragonborn—the ‘true’ Dragonborn—are not suitable to rule the whole of your kingdom as they are, but nor do you wish to needlessly handicap your designated successor. It had been your hope that, with her claim to rule secured by your proclamation, the Serpent Queen would be more open to modifying your progeny into something MORE.
“It can be done,” she tells you, then pauses, tail twitching and eyes narrowing. “Well… Somewhat. I cannot make a REAL Dragonborn of it, of course. It requires a FAR more involved process, and GREAT quantities of draconic material. But with the remnants of the Red Dragon King’s dead hatchlings, I can concentrate and bring to the surface those most ‘draconic’ of physical traits…”
She reaches out to tap your horns, and strokes a talon along the spiny underside of your chin in a way that makes your groin tighten. She cackles at the reaction, and turns back around, beckoning you to the back of her laboratory. The ‘Junior Novice’, hybrid ghoul-dragon chimera of her creation, rouses slightly from where he is kept caged in the corner—albeit in spacious-enough confines, and no longer as closely-guarded as when he once was.
“I have learned to manage its aggression,” the ‘Senior Novice’ replies in answer to your unspoken question. “Periodic administration of a hormonal concoction tempers its territoriality… And an interesting property of that squirming ‘plague chimera’ and its payload has proven useful for more seamlessly merging mammalian and reptilian components.
Huh. Junior DOES look less ‘patchwork’ than he once did, you note. Maybe you’ll take HIM on your hunt, as well… Though he’ll need his aggression. You suspect you’ll need every advantage you can get against a Greater Demon.
