The slow thrill of enormous amounts of water whistling by carved rock up ahead. The road curves gently as it broadens out. Here, the highway is well tended. Hedges run parallel and then become fences. Little signpost and prayers to distant things carved along the periphery.
The Spanway. Carved from imported rock. Shaped by the House of the Bonded in one night. Built by the very hands of Ashoniti herself. A piece of the moons, fallen off, crashed here, and made to serve man. Myths, many but truths few. It has been here forever. It spans the Deluge and neither flood nor drought has made it move. Legion High sends an engineering team every year to check the infrastructure, the pillars, the cracks in the concrete, and every year, the same report:
Nothing changed.

It should be a good view but the weather has twisted and mist and light fog cling heavily to roads. Sounds blur into weirdness, bouncing off hills and coming back as different voices. It's a little colder than it has any right to be. Which for once makes it simply passably enjoyable to be outside. It gets like this sometimes in these regions. The lowlands lead into high mountains, and the right winds coming down from on high makes the world ... soupy.
