“Lucian!” Adok yelled as he brought back his hammer and struck one of the Skaven with a shining hammer, “Damned Skaven, get over here!”
The march was arduous as he had to slaughter the Skaven in front of him now. Those that were meant to be attacking the pair who stood within the light were turning towards Lucian. He could see the terror in their eyes as they threw themselves forward in an attempt to stop his advance. Perhaps it was the terror of Morr’s blessing which drove them to such an insane frenzy. They were to throw themselves at death because it was the only way they knew to try and avoid it.
Lucian could not understand such logic, yet he ended their lives all the same.
“Damn it get over here!” Adok yelled as he broke formation for just a moment to smash the remaining Skaven that were between him and Lucian. On instinct Lucian reached his hand forward and the Dwarf ensnared it with his heavily calloused hand.
The Dwarf pulled with the strength of the gods, pulled Lucian out of the river of death and onto the hill of bodies so tall that it was above the muddy black mud wash that was rising underneath their feet.
With a quick strike Lucian dispatched the Skaven that was trying to stab Adok in the back. The two quickly walking past the other as Adok had done exactly the same for him. So long had the two training together that they knew eachother’s workmanship, adding in the memories of the brutal campaign against the Orks only reinforced their will.
“We need to kill the Warlock!” Shouted Adolf Wigmar as a roar could be heard from above, “Something is above us! They are going to kill us if we stand here!”
“Let it come! We have good weight underneath us!” Adok laughed as he smashed the head of another Skaven, “Why would the Skaven be outside in the day I can’t think!”
As they spoke, the light above their heads began to dim. The beastial roar they heard earlier shook their very bones.
