“True. Without the ritual, they are unable to persist in this realm for very long at all.” he admitted. “That is why, for now, they are simply…’passing through’...”
Another portal appeared beside her, and this time Young was quicker on the draw. She leapt back, only for another to pop up behind her!
“Behind you!” you warned.
Young turned and caught the foot of a Limbo demon that had been trying to dropkick her in the back. Instead, she shoved its head into the path of the Hellbat storm, and the upper half of its body was quickly torn to shreds. Young threw the bottom half at Varnae, and in the body of the young girl, he swung the massive sword she'd been carrying, and sliced the bottom half into two smaller halves.
More portals opened. This time, at eye level with the Kaiju on your side. Countless Hellbats poured from the portals and proceeded to bombard them with their own bodies! The sheer weight of numbers from multiple streams at once were almost overwhelming for them.
The ones that didn't die on impact, or were swatted away, fell down to harass your allies on the ground! Chaos erupted on the battlefield, but by some miracle, the majority of Varnae's forces were currently being distracted by their own Kaiju running rampant in their backline. Whether this was due to Varnae's influence or something else entirely was still unclear, but you had bigger things to worry about right now. Because his frontline remained unimpeded, and they were starting to advance.
Not wanting to waste this opportunity, an entire wave of vampires surged forward to meet you. Instead, however…they got your grandma.
“Keep your filthy paws away from my granddaughter!” she roared, her eyes flaring with intensity.
Your own allies, still recovering from Varnae’s latest trick, rushed to meet the vampires. And somewhere amidst all this chaos, Varnae was still out there…lurking. He definitely hadn't forgotten about you. And you just knew that he was itching for a rematch.
Your silver sword had probably melted into slag after Aegis nuked that magic circle, but you still had the one your mom gave you. That would have to be enough, for now.
What will you do?
>Ask Khonshu for guidance. Vampiric weaknesses won’t work on Varnae while he’s possessing that girl.
>Hunt down Varnae while you weave between both armies. It’ll be dangerous, but at the very least, he probably won’t see you coming.
>Send up a beacon to attract Varnae’s attention. If he wants a rematch, then you’ll gladly give him one.
>Create a signal for Simon and Carn to begin their assault early. You need backup! Now!
>Get to the castle and stop Varnae's ritual before its too late! Maybe someone here could help you clear a path.
