"Good job, you killed it," he said, patting her on the back. Lilette grinned, the adrenaline rushing in her soul. "I'm glad you're able to not be so pathetic,"
Anon turned to Lilette, his eyes blazing with anger. "Pathetic? Oh i'm sorry that i'm not some elite chosen one. What the hell were you thinking, throwing me in the water like that?!" he yelled, his voice filled with disbelief and frustration.
Lilette looked surprised by Anon's reaction, but she quickly regained her composure. "It's part of the training," she said calmly. "I needed to see how you would react in a real-life situation."
"Real-life situation?" Anon repeated incredulously. "You call that a real-life situation? You could have gotten me killed!"
Lilette shrugged. "It's a necessary part of becoming a better crosser," she said. "You need to learn how to handle yourself in any situation, no matter how dangerous it may seem."
Anon shook his head, still unable to believe what had just happened. "You sure seem quick to put me in danger for someone who needs me alive to win the Fae Brawl," he said sarcastically.
Lilette's expression hardened, and she crossed her arms over her chest. "I'm only trying to help you become the best crosser you can be," she said coldly. "If you don't want my help, then that's your decision. But don't expect me to hold your hand every step of the way."
Anon stared at Lilette for a moment, feeling a mix of emotions. He knew she was right, and that he needed to be able to handle himself in any situation if he wanted to stay alive. But at the same time, he couldn't shake the feeling that she had put him in unnecessary danger.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Fine," he said, reluctantly. "I'll continue the training. But next time, give me a little more warning before you throw me into the deep end."
Anon looked and her wounded arm. "What are we going to do about that". She shook her head. "Don't worry about it, my recovery is pretty decent. After a rest tonight I'll be good as new". Anon looked at her with some suspicion. But at this point the will just roll with it, after all he is completely out of his element. With the world ending it's best to trust the frog lady.
