The fortress from the last time Lucian was there had started the rebuilding process. First and foremost many of the bodies which were laid across the floor had been treated and buried, making sure that no foulness would rise from their unrestful sleep. Damage from fire had also been cleaned from the walls and ramparts.
Though lots of stonework had yet to be repaired, the gates which had been torn down by monsters were now raised even higher than ever before.
The group was guided through the fortress to an open room where several people were yelling at one another. There was no throne to the sight of Lucian but there were men who were standing at attention at a slightly elevated position. Lucian could not help but notice these men were built far more firm and had some weight where basic soldiers had nothing.
Lucian almost noticed all the mumbling that was among them. Though unlike the times Lucian had been through it in Bretonnia, he noticed these whispers seemed kinder. Upon sight of Lucian and his entourage, the Lords of Albion departed to make way for the Grail Knight.
“King Geralt,” Spoke the Baron who was standing next to the most decorated man present. Upon his head was a crown which appeared only slightly tarnished. Still a crown befit for a King but a clear showing of his people’s wealth, “The one who stands before us is Lucian of Bretonnia. When he left this fortress he told me that he would slay Grimidal, and I shall affirm he has kept that oath!.”
The cheers came suddenly at the callout of Lucian’s accomplishment. The acknowledgement of a deed done well for Lucian who had so many not be seen or known. It was like an alcohol for the Knight, perhaps even more so as he could feel the people in this room more than ever before.
