The Emperor gave a long, solemn nod as he gave the affirmation to TalOS. There were no words spoken for he must have known that speaking those words would invite ruin to the entire concept of the Great Crusade.
His objective was clear to TalOS now. As the Crusade Continues the Emperor will play his cards in such a way that the table it set against Chaos. If he did not do this, in an attempt to secure himself headway, then the Traitors will come from any direction that he does not expect.
It was a risky bet against four beings of equal power to himself. A risky bet for the fate of the Galaxy and the future.
Being a pawn in these schemes TalOS had to wonder about the Machine God in all this. He was real and ever present, but only to the Martians on one occasion did the acknowledgement of the Machine God being made by the Emperor.
To this was the Emperor’s certainty in TalOS’s loyalty. And where would he be wrong, the Mechanicum seeks only knowledge and while temporal power is to its benefit does not fit the overall goal. TalOS knew, for there was no reason to call it a simple suspicion, that he holds some sort of relationship to the Machine God.
He finally declared, +I understand and support you on your path Emperor.+
The Emperor could no longer read TalOS for they were anathema to one another, but the Emperor’s experience with people must have been so good that he read TalOS with ease. He gave a knowing smile to support this. Then it became drawn out only to fade as knowledge came to him, +Know that what happens from here onwards will be of sacrifices.+
TalOS shook his head as he took a bite of his meal, +Sacrifices will need to be made so that we at least have a future.+
The Emperor gave a nod as he finished his own meal.
