Quoted By:
There are hundreds of people who have seen Strainforms, in the distance, or suddenly far too close.
There are sharply less who have encountered them and lived to tell the tale about it.
Out of all those, winnowed down through years of war and woe, there are precious few who have defeated one in combat. They say Merkalin did it once. With a stick. But that's the kind of thing the seventh best sword in the world does, if only to prove he can, and even then, he might be nervous about the prospect.
But we should adjust these numbers.
Because now you have too.

Wicklighter pulls the sword free from the heart of the Strainform with a soft chime of shattering glass and the whole thing disintegrates into spent powder and sharp shards. It bleeds. It is something a little like blood and yet not at all.
Markhan sits down. He tries not to get any of it on him.
Crushfist pants, heaving for breath. Rubs his bruised knee. That's going to smart for a while.
Wicklighter sheathes the sword.
One of the Ravens mechanically puts his own blade away and unrolls a bandage and sets to work. The battered medical assistants blink and shake off their stupor and praise the lucky stars and grand Icons that they set up the whole medical triage station RIGHT HERE before everything went oh so very wrong.
One minute, seventeen seconds.
Most people are dead in much, much less.

>Markhan, Wicklighter and Crushfist can add +1 *Will*. What could possibly be frightening after this?
>Gain +1 Lethality. Your base Lethality should be 1d6, so this should make it 1d6+1, which weapons and equipment adds to. Please be mindful that you read this carefully, because +1 Lethality is +1 Flat, not +1 whole d6!
>This unlocks a subtle trick, which you might sometimes get use out of: You can now test Lethality, at 10+Mod, eg, 10+1, as a Minor action, to attempt to be lethally dangerous or know how to be. This is a little outside something so mundane as "weapon use". This is the high art of knowing how to kill things deader than dead with nothing but your own feel for it.
>Markhan should test Health - that arm isn't doing so well. It's feeling a little loose in the socket.
>Gain an Inspiration.

It's . . . over?
