None wanted to break the silence. To do so would disrespect the memory of a great mind belonging to humanity. But it must be broken, lest the Priests of the Machine God never take action upon their findings.
“I thank you for this finding, 5th Company Captain Lorch. The Machine God has truly looked upon you with grace this day.” Declared TalOS as the Servo Skull that he was operating moved to move the device to the center, “I have the understanding that Magos Dominus Tekar is dead as of this moment?”
“You are correct Father.” The Astartes said as he gave a deep bow, “In combat against an AI that was protecting the facility he lost his life. His lesser Adept Servin has accepted the Magos’s remains, relinquished their rights, and returned to their planet.”
“He shall be remembered just like all others, but be known as an explorer who lost his life bringing to the Mechanicum.” TalOS declared as the monolith arrived before him, “The knowledge of Saint Gellar shall be taken into consideration, what shall we do with her original finding?”
None truly wanted to speak first as they all knew it would quickly roll into a debate. But it was one where the heart of precedent was shifted greatly beyond all others.
The first one to speak was High Dominus Eretis, “What is before us today is what one of the greatest minds of mankind was blessed by the Machine God to have. While it is forign to even the Ancients, it was a finding that became the basis of our own technology. It might even be a work of technology from the Machine God itself.”
“We should exercise caution before truly going into the works of this item.” Declared Prime Dominus Pterraxi as he glanced upon it, “Even if it's the basis of the Gellar Field system it might still be tainted in some way that the Ancients did not know of.”
As those words were spoken, TalOS looked upon it closely. His eyes glared upon the runes that sat upon the monolith’s exterior. In a moment, he felt recognition.
>We will keep it for open study.
>TalOS will become its custodian for further research. It needs to be treated carefully.
>It will be locked upon Lucius. It will not be destroyed, but it won’t be studied.
