"It's a start."
"I think it's inspiring. Someone with all that power using it to help everday people? I think that's something we should aspire to."
"Is that right?" He asks you, a tinge of knowing on his voice. "You can say it." He follows up
"I'm just thankful he's on our side."
Bruce laughs and nods his head.
"So am I, or I wouldn't be here." he smiles at you and looks to Hawthorne.
"What about you, Mitch?" He asks Hawthorne now.
"Excuse me?" He replies
"I heard Jim call you by it in the station so I-"
"My friends call me Mitch, Mr.Wayne." He says plainly. He stares into Bruce's eyes and Bruce breaks eye contact first.
"Of course." He says meekly. "Sergeant Hawthorne, what do you make of this photo?"
Hawthorne eyes it up for a few seconds before speaking.
"Grand Larceny."
"I'm sorry?"
"If someone stole it, I'd stick em with grand larceny. I'm sure it meets the cash requirement."
Bruce stares at him for a few seconds before politely smiling and looking up at the photo himself.
"I suppose it does."
You hear a dinging, small at first and then more and more until everyone is tapping on their glasses. Bruce looks to you both and gives a small bow.
"I believe I'm being summoned. Excuse me, Officers."
You both watch as he walks into a welcoming crowd going towards a small risen stage, behind him a massive mural of Superman and the other founding Justice League members. Something about the people shown in the artwork tickles the back of your brain, almost like seeing someone familiar for the first time in a long time. The feeling is interrupted by Hawthorne.
"On a stage is about the most dangerous place a VIP can be, anyone looking to do anything is going to want to do it somewhere public. Protesters are outside but all those side entrances, I don't like it. One of us should go near the stage and the other should check the doors on the sides, make sure everything is secured. You're still training so you still lead."
You scan the room quickly but don't notice anyone out of place, you do notice what you don't notice however Harvey Dent is nowhere to be seen. Neither are Kimble and Banks.
>"You aren't the biggest fan of Wayne, I'll stay close to him for his speech and meet you after." >"You're the senior officer, I'll check the doors and meet you by the stage after." >"The side entrances are probably okay, I'm worried about the lack of Dent and his detail. I should check it out. >"The side entrances are probably okay, I'm worried about the lack of Dent and his detail, can you check that out while I stay close to Wayne?" >Write-In
