TalOS scanned the paper and gave a small prayer in his faith. As he did so he finally noticed something was amiss among the smells of reality. He quickly recognized the smell and his eyes flashed towards the Emperor and then at a plate that was before them on a table surrounded by chairs.
As reality quickly snapped in his eyes glazed across the room and he knew he was no longer on the Onus Probandi or near Lucius itself. His Noospheric link was quickly snapped into the nearby Mechanicum ship and he was told they were essentially in the middle of no where nearer to Terra.
His connection was not with the immediate ship though and his study showed that of all the structures he was upon TalOS did not have any access to the vessel’s databanks. What he did find was the name of the vessel as it broadcasted it, ‘The Vengeful Spirit’.
+Why are we upon your Flagship?+ TalOS asked as he turned his attention back to his creator.
+I informed your vassals that I will attempt my hand at helping you recover. That I have done the most pressing matter and gave you time.+ The Emperor said simply as he walked over and took a seat on a chair that was perfect for him, +Take this moment to rest and recover your soul, it has been unstable since you succeeded in ripping it from the Warp.+
TalOS walked over to the table, feeling himself hesitate for a moment before sitting down next to his creator. He looked up towards his maker and the man gave a solemn nod, +There is no need for you to worry. The countdown to when you make your discovery will only begin when I leave your presence.+
The Emperor, as he was not in his armor, easily handed to TalOS his portion of the Corpse Starch that was between the two of them. He then picked it up and took a small bite out of it. He looked down upon it like a xenos before shaking his head.
TalOS could not help but give a small chuckle as he saw the reaction, +Were you hoping to experience it like my brothers. You do not possess those organs.+ TalOS pointed out as he took a bit and felt the spirit wash into his gullet.
He watched the giant take in and out a breath as he studied it, +You are correct, it is a meal meant for Astartes and their Sires. The only benefit it holds for humans is that it very nutritious, contrary to the standard of fried foods.+
+You could have put spices in it.+ TalOS pointed out as he lowered his meal, +Then you have enjoyed it more.+
TalOS watched the eyes of the Emperor glaze as a thought went through his mind. He looked upon the meal solemnly in thought, +It has been a long time since I had cooked with Spices. I did not think it a good use of my time when it was made.+
