You retire for the night and go to the other room, where Marley's already sleeping. In the peace and quiet there, you should be able to collect your focus and meditate. If only it was that simple. No matter how much you try to shut out your surroundings and concentrate on your inner self, the pervasive hum of machinery and electronics makes it impossible. Even after you've shut off everything in the room, you can still hear it. That's not all either, even the air seems stale and lifeless in a way that you never noticed before. You give it your best shot over the course of an hour but in the end, you barely make a dent in the fury that seethes inside of you.
With meditation out of the way, you finally decide to get some sleep.
You wake up to the ache of an empty stomach not long after the sun has risen. The other boys are still fast asleep so you take the opportunity to have a shower. Not long after you've finished cleaning yourself up, the others start to awaken and you hear a knock on the door. It's Alex with Ella in tow and a paper bag in her arms, full of breakfast sandwiches that she bought from a nearby bakery. You're a little annoyed that the girls went out without letting you know first, but you're too hungry to argue right now.
"I know what I said about how important it is to hunt and cook your own meals yesterday," Marley comments half-way through a bacon and egg croissant, "but humans do make some really good food."
"Just wait until you have a shower. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy hot water too." You're glad that he's changing his mind about society. Maybe with time, the Metis might genuinely enjoy the civilised lifestyle. "So, we need to figure out what we're doing today. I got a number from that nurse last night, I could use it to schedule an appointment or sign up for a program or something. That seems like a good way to get inside."
"You remember what Harrower said, right?" Isaiah isn't so keen on your idea. "Pentex uses that place to turn people into cannon fodder for its army. I'm not sure how smart it is to hand yourself over to them like that."
"Oh come on, it's not like everyone in there is going to be a Wyrm-worshipping asshole," Alex interjects. "Though I'm not sure how much we'll be able to learn by talking to nurses and secretaries. Maybe we could go in through the Umbra, see if there's any friendly spirits we could ask questions? Even if there aren't, we could still explore the spirit version of the hospital."
"It's going to be full of Banes and the Weaver's brood." Marley's quick to shoot holes in her plan. "The first lot would try to kill us on sight and most Garou don't work with spider spirits. If we're going in that way, we better be ready for a fight."
