A nearby cleric serves as the referee for your bout with Felix. With a wave of her arm, she bids that the two of you begin. Despite her commencement of the battle, neither of you make a move. The two of you remain locked in your stance, watching each other for an opening. It’s been a while since you’ve fought the boy, but you remember that his speed rivals, if not surpasses your own. If you make the wrong move, it’s not too far fetched that he may activate that Crest of his and take you out in one shot. You’re sure Felix has a few new tricks up his sleeve, but fortunately, so do you.
After standing off for what seems like an eternity, Felix decides he’s had enough and charges, attempting to take the first blow. The boy’s speed is even more oppressive than you remember, but this is exactly what you wanted. Without missing a beat, you shift into your “Swordbreaker” stance. Additionally, you may not be riding Beathan, but you’ve learned to move on your feet as gracefully as you do when taking flight on his back. You bolster your defenses with the “Alert Stance” technique you learned this month.
>+60% Dodge ChanceFelix may be quicker than you, but your technique catches the better of him, and you parry the blow away, much to the boy’s shock.
>“My turn!” You make your counterattack a good one. Were this a real-life battle, you’d likely be able to impale the boy here. But being that this is a spar, you pull your punches just a bit, and settle for slamming your spear across the heir to Fraldarius’ chest, launching him back. (17 Damage! Felix: 34/47 HP)
Unfortunately, despite your successful attack, he’s still far too quick for you to follow-up on, and he backsteps out of the way before you can even attempt a second strike. You pursue, this time, switching out of your “Alert Stance” to take the offensive. You attack, boosting your strength with your “Lancefaire” technique. You connect again with Felix, this time hitting him hard in his side.
