>>6151059“I believe there are two different spells at play, ostensibly the type performed on Objects. The one sealing the painting is a common practice used by the Temple of Beauty to safeguard their homes — but the other one... I’ll spare the minute details, but every temple has its own forbidden spells, and this is one of them. Fusing a body with an object.” Fiora explains. “I imagine our poor Odetta is in a hurry to be reunited with her cousin, so to suggest you to come by my new place seems futile.”
“Anything we can do to sort this out?” You ask.
“For the first spell, there should be a seal somewhere, within the frame most likely — and out of reach in truth...” Fiora thinks it over. “Tell Odetta to apply pressure on the curse without leaving her body. Like holding it tight with all her might. A soul is stronger within a host.”
You suggest that your new phantom punch ability can be adapted to help. Fiora believes it does!
“Your entities can’t help as their projections play a part in the physical world, destroying the frame can cause grave consequences. As long as it’s your soul and only your soul, anyone can do it. You’re brute-forcing the spell out of existence.” Fiora sounds very optimistic.
“Thanks. Lemme gather a group to do this…” You’ll get this first part done!
You inform everyone about what you’ve learned. With a team consisting of You, Odetta, Mark, Lady Steen, and Hubbard — you all try to break the enigmatic seal from the painting’s frame. It’s like holding a chain! One that you all manage to destroy with ease, like crumbling clay. All the people watching cheer when they’re being told that it worked! Odetta takes the frame off the painting. And as Fiora said, there’s a paper seal behind the picture attached to the frame that looks similar to the one in your secret room in the apartment.
“Interesting moves, you two.” Suan De found your and Mark’s form peculiar.
“Can’t wait to tell Dempsey what we did! He’d be proud of us!” The Markgician loves pulling new tricks.
“Such an uncouth way to go about this.” Hubbard found this tacky.
“I certainly have never seen this kind of spell.” Lady Steen looks at the painting without the darkness surrounding it. “I hardly believe the seal belonged to a member of the temple of Beauty, it’s so much more malignant...”
“Now what?” Odetta feels like you’re inching closer.
“Getting excited now that the treasure is within reach?” Misty teases.
“No, I hate when I get things done…” Odetta retorts sarcastically. Ms. Calamity is amused.
“We pulled her out! What’s next?” You return to the call with Fiora.
