>>5468309>>5468957>human only>healing life-stones etc, Icelandic sagahehe I mentioned the historical Norse myth of lyfsteinn (healing life-stone bound to sword hilt etc) from the Laxdaela saga in my Beowulf inspired quest here
https://archived.moe/qst/thread/5265138/#5266724The historical reference for this magic sword belief is this one
http://mcllibrary.org/Laxdaela/chapter57.htmlI think I mentioned it before, but there was a hidden choice in my quest, Song Of The Oath And Wild. You might only pick up on it if you have read some of these Anglo-saxon legends and history. Early on there is a mention of two potential sanctuaries, the obvious one, Old Grandmother's home but also another single obscure mention of Firu Fortrenn / The Hill-Fort, based upon an actual Pictish place name in Scotland. If you noticed that reference maybe there would have been a more historically inspired story based on some Dalriada Irish / Scottish conquest myths hehe as opposed to the easier fairytale choice with Old Grandmother. I did not prompt this choice, but was interested to see what players would have chosen - ie get attacked in forest, do you rush to raise the alarm and warn the Hill-Fort king/warriors of marauders (heroic impulse, it is actually a bit similar to the opening plot of the very first Lone Wolf gamebook Flight From The Dark) or run away and seek safety and refuge with magical Old Grandmother hehe.
