Once you have a proper texture again, you begin making your way to the sewer base. Ryan leads you across the city, while you watch out for pursuers and examine all of your data for spyware. After the mystery with your desynchronized watches, you heavily suspect that something is clinging on to you. You don’t manage to find anything, leaving the encrypted file as the most suspicious item. However, it has no signs of external tampering, and you know for a fact that it can’t execute any programs while packed like this. Neither is it a disguised object. You have no choice but to hold on to it, in case it really is a way to contact Hi-Commandramon. If he wants to talk to you, it must be something important.
Phascomon is back in your Digivice, and is sharing his room with Cutemon. While you’ve gained a great deal of faith in Ryan today, you’re still wary of letting the Dogs of War cling on to such an important Digimon. Instead, his Digivice is being used to store Pulsemon, who complains constantly about the inferior accommodations.
”There isn’t any meat in here! Come on, don’t be stingy, Marnie spawned some for me!”
“I already said that I didn’t have that function!”
”Shhh! Stop whining, Pulsemon, I’m trying to nap. It’s been a long day.” Gizamon hisses.
Ryan informs you that you’re not authorized to know where the new teleportation beacon is, so the both of you need to take the long way through the sewers. It’s a different route from the one you wandered with Liza, but you can’t help but keep your eyes open for signs of her and Seadramon.
You find nothing of the sort along the way. However, you do see plenty of Champion-level Digimon traces. Like you’ve seen before, Digimon are growing and developing into new forms now that the oppressive presence of Raremon is gone, turning the Sewer back into a natural ecosystem.
“Do the bots ever patrol these areas and bother you?”
“No, not really. Squid said that our location was specifically picked because it was a defunct recycling center.”
“So how do new recruits get in?”
“Teleporter.”
“Wind will trust them with the locations, but not me?” You ask, rather annoyed by the revelation.
“… Yeah. I mean, we all know you’re strong. But he’s set on, uh…”
He slows down a bit as he thinks about his next words carefully.
