While you’re doing this, you notice a towering shape ahead of you, many rooms away. It’s a hulking mass that looks distinct from the smooth servitors. It’s like some kind of clockwork juggernaut, made from brown metal and with powerful looking limbs. You figure out that it’s a Digimon after some examination, but there’s too much material in the way to get a scan.
You decide to steer clear of it. If you had charged straight through or explored without .apps, you likely would have run into this thing and been pursued.
With the Digimon evaded, and your path made clear by repeated uses of c11p, you continue your journey and finally make it towards an upward-sloping hallway. The target core is somewhere above. You consume one of your last few copies to peek through a wall, and see that the brown behemoth is a mere speck in the distance. It’s investigating a conspicuous hole your drill has left behind, but you’re long gone.
Before the red timer hits zero, you stick your head through the sloping ceiling and look upwards. All you see is the reversed metal texture of a gigantic chamber. You can't see inside from down here, nor gauge what lies in the core room. It uses a proper skin, and can't be spied on.
That’s when you get a call from Phascomon on your linker. He’s panting heavily, but doesn’t sound strained or injured.
”Marnie! Can you hear me?”
“I can. How’s your half of the mission been?”
”Good. I don’t know how those bozos are doing, but I’ve been taking out troops left and right. You wouldn’t believe how many Espimon are in here!”
“I’m close to the core myself. Security has been lax here, all according to plan.”
”My part is done. I see the bridge again. Hang tight, I’m coming back to you. Don’t do anything stupid!”
