>>5510653>functional? 200 years of rust does not an engine whir to life for.At the very least I'd expect ammo boxes and maybe the equipment of dead soldiers to be inside, possibly. Maybe some stuff is made of alloys that don't corrode or oxidize? Maybe weight item psychics that prevents stuff from completely being useless blocks of rust?
I'm not too bummed out about some of the rusted out APC's. There's probably a garage at the PD, or at the very least a car dealership with some premium cars they kept indoors. Failing that? Multistory parking lots.
>But there should be an abundance of ammo about the military base proper.Honestly? We'll need to grab a shit ton of 5mm for Grant from the local PD and gun stores to feed his beast just so we can tackle whatever might still be at the military base, or make improvised explosives.
>if time is properly invested in it.if it could be helped, we could and should invest in reprogramming some some Mr. Handy's and Gutsy's for delicate retrieval of scrap and examining for things of worth. It would cut down in scavenging significantly. There was some opposition towards recruiting scavangers, and we can't pull help from our own people as they're much too busy....hmmmm.
Speaking of people and being busy, as Santa Rosa has been left mostly more alone than most wasteland ruins, would we be able to scavenge for generators on par with those found in Vaults from the city and it's attached military base? If we just happen to find some in hospitals, research centers, or cooperate research labs then we could possibly curry additional favors from Vault City, or shave off the amount of time our people need to grab some generators.
Oh oh oh oh oh! If there's a local Vault Tec office, would there be a chance for us to acquire some pipboys? Those are always real valuable treats, either for keeping or selling. Damn I got so many ideas now.
Places we should hit up in Santa Rosa:
-car dealerships (acquiring cargo trucks, rv's, luxury cars, other)
-gun stores (GOD BLESS THE SECOND AMENDMENT and camo stuff for our brother)
-the SRPD (guns and armor so we can cosplay as rangers, maybe cop cars)
-General Atomics store (for electronics and robots)
-corperate buildings (give us your secrets!)
-Hospitals (medical supplies, possible Autodocs, possibly some prewar cybernetics)
-Electronics stores (more spare parts are always useful, maybe Pipboys, maybe cool prewar tech not shown in fallout games, maybe get games)
-Grocery stores / drug stores / Super Duper marts (misc everything, but mostly food, alcohol, smokes, consumables that the whole Enclave cell might appreciate to keep morale up)
-Robotics stores (robotic slaves for obvious reasons and to aid in looting mundane locations)
-books (less valuable to us, we can trade to wastelanders for other goods)
