Blue eyes looked upon the large symbol that was etched into the surface of the planet that laid below them. He listened to the natives of Macragge who said that someone who could even consider making this must have been of so much vanity that it is beyond even the Gods. These words were only brought up here on the planet of Lucius for they saw the Emperor for what he was, a pinnacle of mankind and thus deserved every piece of golden armor he wore.
Roboute looked upon it with a somewhat different eye. It was pride for sure, but this pride was beyond more than just branding their planet. Every piece of manufactured goods they made, let it be weapons, cyborgs, or cups, all bore upon them the symbol. Robute also knew that the symbol was an ‘L’, which is a letter in high gothic dialect derived from Terra itself.
To think Roobute came to a simple observation. This symbol was not the vanity of his brother but an entire planet of Priests thinking they are just that much better than all other Forge Worlds. There was a practical to all this however that went over all of this talk. And to Robute’s understanding it was not because TalOS was upon the planet.
It was that the mark of Lucius meant the product was made to the highest quality. Practical, it was a literal brand in every sense that had ever been invested into that word. Goods directly off of the Forge World are rare thanks to most of its resources being given to its Auxilia. So when the Astartes received a bolter that operated at a higher standard they would look upon the gun to see the brand of Lucius upon it.
Roboute Guilliman recognized this after talking to the War-Born about his brother. When he told his sons that he was going to talk to his brother they had requested him to order them ten thousand boltguns from the Star-Forge Planet.
Such a request was like a blade to Roboute’s head when he heard it. Even now he could still feel the pain of ordering a small Legion’s worth of Boltguns when they are so rare and valuable. The Master of Ultramar learned that Lucius did not even specialize in the creation of boltguns. They were focused on the production of tanks and Titans! The Practical was that he was going to be charged two or three times the price for the same weapon they could get from Mars.
Roboute Guilliman decided that the ultimate desire of his sons will need to be on a lower priority in comparison to Ultramar. With the blessing of his True Father, the Emperor of Mankind, to expand his personal Fiefdom into the stars such a request can be asked for later. What Guilliman needed now was exactly what Lucius produced, tanks and ships for his mortal Legates.
These were his aims, a list of terms that shall be revealed over the course of conversation. It was a list that will only last for as long as he makes good introductions.
