“Louise? Would you mind down to say hello to the company? I promise he won’t bite.”
Blade gave you a slightly unamused look, but said nothing in response. You were all just waiting to see what Louise would do.
Thankfully, she didn’t put up a fuss and simply floated down to meet you. Blade, on the other hand, seemed bothered by her vampiric abilities.
“That’s some high-level shit you’ve got going on. Most vampires don’t come anywhere near this level of power. You sure the vegan vamp was the one that bit you?” he asked, glancing at Reese, who was starting to become annoyed at being referred to as “vegan vamp”.
“Strange thinks that it might be because we gave her a magic elixir during her transformation period.” Reese answered.
Blade raised an eyebrow. “I’ve never heard of something like that happening. It’s more likely that she had a dormant X-Gene that either reacted to her getting bit, her drinking the elixir, or some fucked up combination of both.”
“I’d like to remind you all that ‘she’ is still in the room.” Louise said, her voice slightly muffled by the mask.
You nodded. “Now that we’re all here, one of the biggest reasons that I asked you to come was because I heard that you have access to an effective blood substitute. Would you be opposed to sharing some of that with my friend here?” you asked, gesturing towards Louise. “She refuses to drink any blood, even that of animals.”
Blade crossed his arms and glanced between you, Louise and Reese. “So you’re in the same boat with vegan vamp. Were you an animal lover in life?”
Reese rolled her eyes so hard that you thought they might fall out of her head.
Louise just shrugged. “I like cats, but they seem to hate my guts these days.”
Blade smirked at that. “That’ll happen. They can just sort of sense the wicked aura coming off of you. To them, you’re like a hungry predator, constantly on the prowl. Which…isn’t entirely inaccurate.”
Louise closed her eyes, reached up and slowly removed her mask, revealing her long fangs. Once again, you were taken back by how utterly beautiful she’d become after her transformation. Strange told you that you only felt this way because her vampiric charm was much stronger than normal, but you couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable with the whole thing.
“If what the Huntsman says is true, I would be forever indebted to you if you would be willing to part with your formula.” Louise pleaded. “S’il vous plait, I have no wish to feast on any living beings.”
Blade stared at her for a good, long while, before reaching into his jacket and pulling out a vial of pale blue liquid. “A dose this size should provide you with all the nourishment you need for at least 24 hours. Alternatively, you can drink it to quickly heal from your wounds.” he explained, holding it up to eye level so everyone could see it.
