Ironically, Vic gave you the easiest way out of your next problem. Once you’d explained that you needed to check on your friends and make a quick supply run, your parents seemed to become much less hysterical about letting you leave. That didn’t stop them from worrying about you, though. To be honest, it was a little endearing.
You’ve never had the best relationship with your folks, for obvious reasons, but it was kind of nice to remember that they hadn’t banished you from the Parker clan just yet.
You gave everyone a round of quick hugs, with Mom and Pete’s being the longest, and left back out the hospital a few minutes later. You really would’ve liked to stay with them, to have a decent conversation with your brother that might shed a little light on his situation. Maybe you could stop your sister from turning into a nervous wreck, or redeem yourself in Peter’s eyes. You wanted all of these things, very much. But now wasn’t the time.

As you were leaving out, you caught a glimpse of Cindy, who was vigilantly keeping guard of the hospital from atop a nearby building. Her head turned slightly, and her shining eyes met yours. The two of you exchanged a nod, and you were on your way once more.
You’d have to remember to update Cindy on what had happened once this was all over.

On your way back to your warehouse, you called the others and told them to come back with Sam. You were there first, so you quickly swapped back to your classic Huntsman costume and ran a clawed hand through the fine fur pelt warming your neck. You have no idea what Phin made this thing out of, but it was soft as shit. You would sometimes spend whole minutes just rubbing it absently as you gazed out at the city.
As you proceeded to do just that for the next couple of minutes, the others started arriving. Sam, still alive by some act of God, took a moment to ogle at the sweet setup that you had going here. You understood completely. It was an ideal bachelor’s pad, so you gave him some time to drink it all in. Glass stayed close to him just in case he tried anything funny, though.

During your debriefing, you received a fresh round of praise after you recounted your interaction with Typhoid Mary. Even Prowler and Glass had known who she was, and they knew that she was no slouch in a fight. Your victory against her was as astounding as it was unexpected. The news would eventually spread, and your reputation would surely get a major boost.
You’d come to learn that Mary was only one of multiple boogeymen in the criminal underworld. Not all of them were necessarily scary, but they were all feared and respected.
There was Bullseye, another of the Kingpin’s favorites. His deadly accuracy worked both at a distance and up close. The dude just didn’t miss. And for most normals, that was utterly terrifying to go up against.
